Berndt Mader

Berndt likes his own lack of style, and is never seen without his gold chain. He likes sardines, but not anchovies. Saturdays, but not Sundays. And he considers filmmaking a sport, not a hobby.

Mader has been awarded the Panavision New Filmmaker grant, as well as grants from Eastman Kodak and the Texas Filmmaker's Production Fund. His films have won many awards, including most recently the Audience Award for his 2008 documentary Road To Tlacotepec. His first narrative feature, Five Time Champion will be finished in Fall 2010.
